THE INAUGURATION of Ohio Wesleyan’s 16th president, Rock Jones, was marked by a cloudless autumn day and activities ranging from a national forum on the future of the liberal arts to an all-community dinner featuring foods from around the world and entertainment by various campus groups. This site gives you access to every part of this special day.

Biography of President Rock Jones

Rock Jones, Ph.D., joined Ohio Wesleyan July 1, 2008 as president.  Formerly executive vice president and dean of advancement at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., he spearheaded a comprehensive campaign to reposition the college as a leader in engaged liberal arts education. Also at Hendrix, Jones served as vice president for enrollment and dean of admission and financial aid, interim vice president for student affairs, and chaplain.

Jones holds a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Texas-Austin, a master of divinity magna cum laude from the Divinity School at Duke University, and a bachelor of arts with honors from Hendrix College, where he received the college’s President’s Medal, presented to the student who best exemplifies the school’s highest ideals.
